Foreword
A Pure Wellspring of Love for Torah
Pkudat Chayim was founded from a pure wellspring of love for Torah and concern for its honour, under the presidency and guidance of HaRav Yisrael Peretz shlita, one of the esteemed figures of the Ramot neighbourhood in Jerusalem.
This spiritual kingdom began in the year 5764 (2003–2004), when the president of the organisation identified an acute need for a rigorous and comprehensive framework for the study of practical halacha during the evening hours. Out of that longing the first beit midrash was established for accomplished scholars, who applied themselves with great analytical depth to the laws of berachot, drawing conclusions from the sugyot to settle the halacha. And as the fruit of their pure labour, the renowned work “Av BeBracha” was brought to light.
From then on, out of demand and need for frameworks of this kind, further evening frameworks were founded, and this Torah response spread its wings to additional neighbourhoods in Jerusalem. Owing to the great demand and the ever-growing need, the Pkudat Chayim organisation was established, encompassing today a wide array of distinguished study frameworks alongside a formidable arm of chesed.

Kollel for Dayanut — “Pkudat Chayim”
A full-day framework for accomplished scholars engaged in the depths of Choshen Mishpat and Even HaEzer, raising up dayanim and halachic decisors for Israel.

A full-day framework devoted to the disciplines of Yoreh De'ah, teaching the path to be followed in practical halacha.

Practical halacha taught to men who labour for their livelihood, delivered by outstanding maggidei shiur several times a week in neighbourhoods across the city.

Kindness and Support
Alongside its Torah endeavours, the organisation runs an extensive chesed operation caring for the welfare of Torah scholars and families in need.

Weekly Food Baskets
Generous food baskets distributed week after week to dozens of families in need in the Ramot neighbourhood — delivered to the door, with dignity and honour.

Before the festivals
Festival Support
Prepaid cards totalling hundreds of thousands of shekels distributed before the festivals to kollel members and families of limited means, so they can rejoice in the festival with dignity and ease.
Partnership
A Partnership in Upholding Torah
The whole of the organisation’s considerable work — the dissemination of Torah, the support of its scholars and its acts of chesed — rests upon the generosity of the wider public.
The merit of sustaining those who toil in Torah and of supporting the poor of one’s own city stands to every partner, shielding them from misfortune, for blessing, for success and for every good thing.
